Armed Protection Officers for Active Shooters
If your School, Business, Facility does not have an Active Shooter Situational Awareness Training Plan in place…STOP, READ, and then CONTACT United States Protective Services!
You, as an employer/business owner, have an obligation and duty to have an Active Shooter Plan in place that will help protect all who study, work, and are guests at your premises.
When Law Enforcement arrives, some ideas on what to do, what not to do, and what to expect will be discussed. We will also discuss what types of information to have ready to provide to the police once interviewed.

ACTIVE SHOOTER SITUATIONAL PLANNING:
When an active shooting takes place, everyone is in crisis mode. Knowing what to do and what not to do can help not only save your life, but also the people around you. Although no one wants to picture an active shooter situation, being prepared is your best line of defense for staying safe and preventing serious injury and/or death. In an era when senseless killings seem to be far too common, the question is: “if you’re the victim of an active shooter, will you know what to do?”
A person’s three options to survive an active shooter situation is to either RUN, HIDE or FIGHT!
Congratulations Officer Rodriguez!
USPS would like to congratulate Officer Rodriguez on his bravery, heroism, and professionalism during a shooting incident.
On August 8th, 2020 at 11:23 pm Officer Rodriguez was assigned to Shell Gas Station, who had medically assisted a black male subject. The subject had injured himself by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper left thigh.
With his quick thinking, the officer applied his tourniquet and applied pressure to the bullet wound. The officer was able to get Dallas Police Department and EMS to the scene. The subject was transported and was grateful to the officer that helped and possibly saved his life tonight.
We would like to thank 911inet dispatchers, Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire Rescue, and Supervisor Sergeant Garcia.
